I received word today from my childhood friend J that her little brother was injured last night by a grenade in Fallujah. That's three injuries for the people I know there- all two of them. While I am thankful that dear Adam Fus is only injured, I hate that the US has entered into such a mess. So many people on both sides suffer.

Perennial student with a Master's in international development; currently working on a PhD in agricultural and resource economics at the University of California Berkeley. My research falls into a subset of development economics, impact evaluation, health, agriculture, behavior, and a handful of other things. In recent years, I've been fortunate to get the chance to work in Haiti, Malawi, Kenya, and Liberia. I dabble in photography and keep a collection of unusual houseplants (one is more compatible with travel than the other).
